Mr. Murray Forgy was born on July 16, 1898 in Browder, Kentucky, not far from Central City. He married Lorell (Polly) Rosser on December 15. 1917 and together had three children, Sybil Lee Forgy Harmon (Oct 11, 1920 - April 17, 2002), Byron Lewis Forgy (Nov. 26, 1924 - ) and Betty Ross Forgy Long Whitton (Nov. 3, 1938- ).

Murray Forgy and his wife Polly operated a small store in Browder, Kentucky, and shortly after the birth of their daughter Betty they moved to Auburn in 1939.
