Shirley H. Ashby:
Shirley H. Ashby was born on
December 11, 1928, son of Euva McIntyre (1894-1975) & Elmer L.
Ashby (1892-1975). Euva and Elmer are buried in Smith's
Cemetery.Shirley
married the late Kathleen White (May 1, 1929-March 4, 2009) on
January 29, 1949. Kathleen was the daughter of Katie Chandler
& Edward White and is buried in Auburn Cemetery.
Shirley and Kathleen have
three children: Lynn Ashby married to Pat Devore who reside in
Springfield Tennessee, Rob Ashby of Los Angeles, CA, and
William Todd Ashby of Charleston, SC who married Rachel
Jeanene Adkins on June 28, 2008 in Lexington.
Shirley spent 36 years as
Postmaster in Auburn (1954-1990) and was truly loved by all
who knew him. Since retiring he works from home as a tax
consultant.
